How to upgrade a HWS manually to revert the hardware service to a previous version
The first step is to stop the HWS in question. You do this by opening services on the machine:
Right click and stop the HWS:
Navigate to the folder for the HWS:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MRM Software\POS\POS Services\Desktop
Inside of this folder there are AutoUpdater and HardwareService folders.
Inside of each of these folders, you need to remove everything BUT these 2 files:
So, your folders should end up like this (Noticing that one is the AutoUpdater folder and one is the HardwareService folder):
Open up the folder structure with the files of the HWS your looking to replace it with.
Open up the AutoUpdater folder for the Replacement files and local installed:
Copy ALL of the files on the left and paste them on the right:
And do the same for the HardwareService folder:
And copy:
And then go back to services and click start:
This then returns the HWS back to a state where it can be upgraded again to the latest version.
