Manual Upgrade for the Hardware Service

How to upgrade a HWS manually to revert the hardware service to a previous version

 

The first step is to stop the HWS in question. You do this by opening services on the machine:

Right click and stop the HWS:

Navigate to the folder for the HWS: 

C:\Program Files (x86)\MRM Software\POS\POS Services\Desktop

Inside of this folder there are AutoUpdater and HardwareService folders.

Inside of each of these folders, you need to remove everything BUT these 2 files:

So, your folders should end up like this (Noticing that one is the AutoUpdater folder and one is the HardwareService folder):

Open up the folder structure with the files of the HWS your looking to replace it with.

Open up the AutoUpdater folder for the Replacement files and local installed:

Copy ALL of the files on the left and paste them on the right:

And do the same for the HardwareService folder:

And copy:

And then go back to services and click start:

This then returns the HWS back to a state where it can be upgraded again to the latest version.
