Setting Up Member Statuses in Plus2
Problem
Administrators need a consistent set of member statuses in Plus2. Status controls how a record is treated (booking and entry restrictions, online joining behaviour); price level controls what they pay.
Resolution
Open statuses
- Go to
Configuration > Membership > Statuses.
- Go to
Create the statuses you need
- A typical set:
Status Use Live / Current member Assigned via GMC Sub Types when someone joins Non-member / Pay as you go Default for casual customers Ad hoc booker One-off hires (e.g. parties), reportable separately Block booker Hosts of block bookings Swimming lessons / Private swimming lessons A record has one status, so use the primary relationship Lapsed, Cancelled, Expired, Deceased End-of-membership states Frozen For 360 freeze workflows, the freeze status (e.g. ID FREEZ, "Current – Freeze") must have Freeze Subscriptions and Collect Sales both tickedSuspended E.g. after a no-show rule DD enquiry Set when a Direct Debit fails; doesn't reset itself when the debt is paid Pending eligibility Discounted memberships needing proof; add as a deny-entry status in the GMC Lead, Prospect, Purge Prospects module; the overnight process removes Purge records Give each status a colour
- Give each status a colour, with bright colours for problem statuses.
Save
- Save each status.
Notes
- Impact on the GMC and Go: the GMC Sub Type Status (e.g. Current member) is what Go assigns when someone joins online, so decide on a consistent status approach for all online subscriptions.
- Statuses can be used as deny-entry rules on entry point profiles and to limit which records a 360 role can see.
