# Managing Users and User Groups in Plus2

HTML version: [Managing Users and User Groups in Plus2](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/plus2/plus2-users-and-user-groups)

## Problem
Administrators need to set up staff users and their Plus2 permissions. Plus2, 360 and Operator share one user list, so a user created in Plus2 is the login for all three.

## Resolution

1. **Create the user and assign a user group**
   - Go to `Configuration > System > Users` and assign each Plus2 user a **user group**.
   - Skip the user group for 360-only users.

2. **Set the user group's access levels**
   - Go to `Configuration > System > User groups > Access levels` to set granular Plus2 permissions (e.g. **EFT > Run**, multi-site access, hiding price levels and time bands).
   - Most sites use three levels, e.g. **Super user**, **Admin** (duty managers) and **Basic** (front of house).

3. **Assign 360 and Operator roles in the GMC**
   - 360 and Operator roles (one role per area) are assigned in `GMC > Security Configuration > Permissions`.

4. **Save**
   - Save the user and user group.

## Notes

- Staff log in to 360 and Operator with their Plus2 username and password.
- The GMC only decides whether a user can log in to Plus2, not their Plus2 permissions.
- Ex-staff with old Plus2 logins also appear in Operator, so tidy them in Plus2.
- Each person who needs the Plus2 booking sheet needs their own login and a Plus2 licence; see [Working Safely in Plus2 and Choosing the Current Site](working-safely-in-plus2-and-choosing-the-current-site.md).
