Planning a New Site Build in Plus2
Problem
A new site needs to make its Plus2 build decisions up front and configure Plus2, the GMC, Go Operator and GladstonePay in the right order, so that each product finds what it depends on.
Resolution
Agree the Plus2 decisions in the system specification
- Gladstone works through a system specification with you before building the site: site prefix and site codes, naming standard, shared vs site-specific products, booking sheet opening period, bookable areas, price levels, statuses, titles, user groups and users, Plus2 licences, user fields, payment methods, departments and cost centres, Direct Debit details, till settings, alert list, how block bookings will be run, and who owns each area after go-live.
- Each decision and its guidance is in System Specification – Building a New Site.
Build the Plus2 foundations
- Confirm the site and naming standard.
- Create price levels, statuses, titles, user groups and users, departments and payment methods (including GSP, Non-banked income ticks and Default for Hosts).
Build the bookable estate in Plus2
- Calendars and time bands (tick Restrict entry), resource products (all price levels at £0), booking sheets.
- Then activities and reservations with price products, descriptions, web ticks, advance booking and waiting lists; price level overrides.
Build memberships in Plus2
- Price products (one price level each), joining/admin fee products, subscription types (Purchase via web, Web tab site, Apply to links, Automatic Pro Rata Refund, Direct Debit/RCP payment method), subscription type groups.
Build access and other records in Plus2
- Entry points, access products, ticket layouts, user fields and screen profiles, block booker records with invoicing accounts, Connect login settings.
Configure the GMC
- Sub Types (price level and status), activity groups, front-of-house subscription type groups, workflows, entry point profiles, payment methods on tills, EFT and RCP services.
Configure Go Operator
- Sites (web visible), tag groups and membership mapping, price level Web bookable flags, look-ahead, waiting list and party booking settings, form profiles, Block Bookings (once enabled by Gladstone Software Support).
Configure GladstonePay
- Merchant configuration, portal users, Pay by Link and Invoicing Module.
Test
- Allow about 20 minutes for Plus2 changes to reach Go and clear the browser cache.
- Test joining, booking, payment, access and cash-up in test before repeating in live.
Notes
- GMC configuration is covered in GMC / Gladstone 360: Configuration and Cross-Product Impact, Go Operator configuration in Gladstone Go Operator Configuration Overview, and the build order from Operator's side in Go Configuration Build Order Across Products.
