# How to Set a Default A4 Printer for Plus2 or Gladstone360

## Problem
When printing reports or documents from Plus2 or Gladstone360, the application uses the default printer set on your Windows PC. If the correct A4 printer is not set as default, documents may print to the wrong device.

## Resolution

1. **Ensure prerequisites are met:**
   - The A4 printer must already be installed and visible on your PC.
   - You must have access to the Windows Control Panel. If you do not, please ask your IT team for assistance.

2. **Open the Windows Control Panel:**
   1. Click the Windows Start button at the bottom-left of your screen.
   2. Search for "Control Panel" and open it.

   > **Note:** If you cannot find or access the Control Panel, you may not have the required permissions. Please contact your IT team to complete these steps.

3. **Open Devices and Printers:**
   - In the Control Panel, click on **View devices and printers**.

4. **Set your A4 printer as the default:**
   1. Find your desired A4 printer in the list.
   2. Right-click the printer and select **Set as default printer**.
   3. A green tick will appear on the printer icon to confirm it is now the default.

   > **Note:** You may need to log out of Plus2 and Gladstone360 and log back in for the new default printer to be recognised by the applications.

## Notes

- **If the Control Panel is not accessible:** You may not have the required Windows permissions. Contact your IT team and ask them to set the default printer for you.
- **If your A4 printer does not appear in the list:** The printer may not be installed on your PC. Contact your IT team to install the correct printer driver.
- **If the green tick does not appear after setting as default:** Right-click the printer again and repeat the step. If this does not work, restart your PC and try again.
- **If Plus2 or Gladstone360 is still printing to the wrong printer:** Log out of the application and log back in. Running applications may not pick up changes to the default printer until a new session starts.
