Changing Prices for Products and Subscriptions in Plus2
Problem
Administrators need to update the prices of products or subscriptions in Plus2, either immediately or from a future date (for example, from 1 April), so bookings, sessions and Direct Debit runs apply the new price at the right time.
Resolution
Navigate to Products
- Go to
Configuration > Financial > Products, then select Products.
- Go to
Select the Product
- Find and select the product you want to change.
Change the Price Immediately (if applicable)
- Select the Prices tab.
- Edit the value in the Price column for the relevant line item.
- Use the Apply to All button if you want to update multiple entries. With separate peak and off-peak prices, don't use it, as it overwrites both with one price.
- Select Save.
Schedule a Future Price Change (if applicable)
- Select the Prices tab.
- Scroll to the Price Change Date column and enter the required future date. The new price applies from midnight, so set 31 March for a 1 April change.
- Enter the new value in the Price Change column.
- Use the Apply To All button if needed.
- Select Save.
Change Many Products at Once (if applicable)
- Use Global price / tax change (
Configuration > Financial > Products > Global price / tax change; also labelled Global Price Change in some versions). - Select the products (for example, all subscriptions, or one department), the price levels and time bands (for example, both standard and off-peak).
- Choose the change by percentage or amount, the rounding, and the date it applies.
- Select Save.
- Use Global price / tax change (
Notes
- User permissions are required to make changes to Products in Plus2.
- The same process applies when updating Subscription prices, allowing you to prepare for tasks such as Direct Debit runs in advance while ensuring the new prices apply from the correct date.
- For memberships, a customer joining before the date pays today's price and the new price applies automatically from the effective date; in-flight memberships don't need re-pricing.
- Global price change works across products, activities, classes and memberships. Tax rates can be changed the same way. Setting departments first makes selection easier.
- Annual price increases: a scheduled price change on the existing subscriptions is far less work than creating new subscriptions each year (for example, suffixed "25"), which means rebuilding every subscription and its Go mapping. It suits a policy that lets everyone move to the new price.
