Single Sign-on (SSO) - Providing consumer access for MobilePro

Gladstone Consumer SSO is currently only available in Gladstone Go. Third party products such as MobilePro do not currently benefit from SSO. This article introduces the improved user flow for those with MobilePro and Consumer SSO.

Introduction

Gladstone SSO is currently not available in other 3rd party applications. Consequently, customers using MobilePro will still be required to use the standard username and password for authentication. To support the seamless approach between 3rd party applications, we have made improvements in the initial consumer sign-up process for the MobilePro app.

When a student or faculty member accesses Gladstone Go for the first time through SSO and they do not have an existing member record, an email can now be sent to them introducing the MobilePro app. This email is completely configurable but the purpose is to drive the creation of a login against the members existing university email.

It is important to note, that if the student or faculty member already have a member record, the assumption is that they have a username and password for accessing MobilePro already.

Step 1: Create the email template

  1. From Gladstone Operator, go to Automation Portal > Email Templates.

  2. Select Add New in the top right corner of the page and under Template Type, choose "New member".

  3. Using the Gladstone Email Manager, create a user friendly email with appropriate branding that introduces the member to your MobilePro App. Make sure that the email includes the Password Reset URL placeholder.

  4. Once the email template is saved, from Operator to go Configuration > Automation > Business Rules and select Add New in the top right corner of the page.

  5. Create a new business rule based off the email template name you just created. For example:

This configuration will now send the newly created email when an SSO user now logs into Gladstone Go for the first time and a new member record is created (auto-provisioned).

Step 2: Creating new password for MobilePro

  1. When a consumer recieves the email created in Step 1 and selects the Reset Password URL, they will be taken to the Gladstone Go reset password page. The member will then create a password for the MobilePro which will allow them to login to the app.
