Setup & Configure a Verifone PTS5 PED
This document will guide you in how to setup and configure a Verifone PTS5 PED.
There are no references to what is needed from a Gladstone software point of view in this document.
Hardware
There are currently 2 versions of the hardware that are used at a POS:
-
V200C - Fixed
-
V240M - Mobile
Prerequisites
Some of the below will need to be completed by your IT/Network Security Team prior to the PEDs being configured.
If this is a swap out from an older PED, then specific config could be used again for the replacement:
-
Specific config required for the PED:
-
IP address
-
Subnet mask address
-
Gateway address
- Primary DNS address
- Secondary DNS address (optional)
-
Wi-Fi network (V240M only)
-
-
Access from the PED direct to Verifone on the following ports and URL. These are used for software downloads to the PED and the physical authorization of the payment:
-
91.207.36.31 on port 29006 (firewalls require outbound rule - PED to Verifone)
- DNS name resolution to vhq2.vfims.com, the full URL connection is https://vhq2.vfims.com/MessagingServer/MessageHandler.asmx
-
Take into account access from the PC as well as any rules on switches, firewalls or proxy servers
-
-
Ports 25000 and 25001 available between the PC running the G360 software and the PED
-
Access to the Verifone portal which is used for reporting on the PEDs - https://reports.paywareocius.com/. This access is controlled by Verifone Support and not Gladstone
- Hardware service on the pc needs access to https://logs.logdna.com/logs/* (Required for Gladstone logging)
- Where applicable, provide remote access for Gladstone Engineers.
This can be achieved through third-party applications such as WebEx or TeamViewer. However, Microsoft Teams cannot be used as it may lack the required functionalities. Remote access enables engineers to perform necessary tasks, troubleshoot issues, and provide support without physical presence.
- Power cable, ethernet cable and port for each V200C device
