# Testing Connections to the Verifone API Using Postman

HTML version: [Testing Connections to the Verifone API Using Postman](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/kb/testing-connections-to-the-verifone-api-using-postman)

## Problem
You need to verify that your system can successfully connect and authenticate to the Verifone API. This helps ensure your Verifone integration is working correctly.

## Resolution

1. **Open Gladstone360 GMC:**
   - Go to `Configuration > Gladstone360 CheckIn POS > Verifone Settings`.
   - Keep this screen open, as you will need the Verifone User ID and API Key.

2. **Set up a Request in Postman:**
   - Create a new GET request.
   - Use the Verifone STATUS endpoint. For a test system, the endpoint is:
     ```
     https://cstpos.test-gsc.vfims.com/oidc/poscloud/nexo/status
     ```
   - (For production, use your live endpoint as appropriate.)

3. **Configure Authentication:**
   - Go to the Authorization tab in Postman.
   - Set the Auth Type to **Basic Auth**.
   - Copy the Verifone User ID from the GMC and paste it into the **Username** field.
   - Copy the Verifone API Key from the GMC and paste it into the **Password** field.

4. **Send the Request:**
   - No request body is required for the STATUS endpoint.
   - Save the request.
   - Click **SEND** to test the connection.

5. **Check the Response:**
   - If authentication is successful, you should receive a `200 OK` status and a JSON response.

## Notes
- This process tests authentication and connectivity only.
- Ensure you use the correct endpoint for test or production environments.
