GoMobile: Activity Tags

Problem

Your members may find it difficult to understand or search for activities in GoMobile (the consumer mobile app — see GO Mobile in the glossary) due to unfamiliar terminology or inconsistent descriptions. Activity tags were introduced to break down these barriers by displaying key attributes in clear terms and helping users find activities that match their interests or requirements.

Resolution

  1. Understanding Types of Activity Tags
There are four types of activity tags in the system by default:

    • Activity Type
    • Duration
    • Instructor
    • Level
  2. Activity Type Tags

    • Multiple tags can be assigned to one activity to reflect different valued attributes.
    • Example:
      • Activity Name: Spin Class
      • Tags: Cycling, Cardio, High Intensity, Music
    • Default available Activity Type tags include:
Mindfulness, Strength, Cardio, Rackets, Swimming, Family fun, Cycling, Martial Art, Flexibility, High Intensity, Low Intensity, HIIT
  3. Duration Tags

    • Only one Duration tag may be selected per activity.
    • Default tags: 30min, 45min, 60min
  4. Instructor Tags

    • Instructor names do not need to be included in the activity description or added as a product.
    • No instructors are populated by default.
  5. Level Tags

    • Multiple Level tags may be assigned to an activity for users to find those matching their skill or fitness level.
    • Default levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
  6. Using Tags in Activity Search (GoMobile)

    • On the Activity Search screen, users are shown Activity Type tags.
    • Only one Activity Type tag can be selected at a time. (Multiple selections are not supported yet.)
    • After selecting a tag, search results display all activities configured with that tag.
    • The scroll tag list lets users select different tags to change results.
    • Entering text in the search removes the tag scroll list from display.
    • All configured Activity Type tags are shown, even if no activity is assigned to some tags. (Some tags may return "no results".)
    • Duration, Instructor, and Level tags are not used in the activity search at present.
  7. Viewing Activity Tags

    • The Activity Details screen displays all tags associated with an activity, for member information only.
  8. Auto Tag Configuration

    • When your app is deployed, Gladstone runs a tag configuration script that assigns tags based on keyword matches in your activity descriptions. You do not need to run it yourself.
    • Whoever configures GO Operator for your organisation should then review the auto-assigned tags and adjust them as needed.
    • The script can also create new tags from activity long descriptions.
  9. Manual Tag Configuration

    • Update activity tags using the Tag Group area in the configuration area of GO Operator.
    • Tags cannot be deleted if they are assigned to any activities.
    • Tags can be manually assigned to activities on the Activity Config screens in the Operator portal.
