# Getting Started with Gladstone Reporting

HTML version: [Getting Started with Gladstone Reporting](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/kb/gladstone-reporting-getting-started)

## Problem

You want to understand what Gladstone Reporting is, what information is available, how reporting data is provided, and how to access the service.

## Resolution

### What is Gladstone Reporting?

**Gladstone Reporting, powered by Sisense, provides pre-built dashboards for accessing and analysing data from your Gladstone system without requiring users to create reports or write queries.**

Gladstone Reporting provides standard dashboards covering areas including:

- Attendance
- Bookings
- Contacts
- Configuration
- Prospects
- Sales
- Subscriptions

The dashboards contain individual reports known as **Widgets**. Widgets present measures and information using formats such as numerical indicators, tables, charts and graphs.

The dashboards and content available to individual users may vary according to their permissions.

### How is Gladstone Reporting data provided?

**Gladstone Reporting uses a Reporting Data Layer (RDL) rather than querying your operational Gladstone database directly.**

The RDL provides reporting data through the Snowflake Data Warehouse. Gladstone Reporting connects to this reporting data to provide the information displayed within dashboards and widgets.

Reporting data is refreshed through scheduled data processing. The exact availability of newly recorded information may vary depending on when the reporting data was last refreshed.

The term **Live**, which may appear in dashboard, data model or report names, refers to the live connection between Gladstone Reporting and the reporting data held in Snowflake. It does not mean that Gladstone Reporting is querying your operational Gladstone database in real time.

### How do I access Gladstone Reporting?

Gladstone Reporting can be accessed using a supported web browser at:

Sign in using your Gladstone cloud account credentials.

Your cloud username is typically in the following format:

`YourName@gladstone-leisurecloud.net`

Use the password associated with your cloud account.

### Can I access Gladstone Reporting on a mobile device?

Gladstone Reporting can also be accessed using the **Sisense Mobile BI** application.

When configuring the mobile application, use the following server address:

Sign in using your Gladstone cloud username and password.

The mobile application provides access to reporting content on smaller devices, although the web application may be more suitable for detailed analysis.

### Can Gladstone Reporting send reports by email?

Qualifying dashboards can be configured to send scheduled report summaries by email.

Users can select an available schedule, such as daily, weekly or monthly, depending on the dashboard configuration.

Email reports provide a snapshot of dashboard content. Interactive functionality such as drilling into the underlying report data requires access to Gladstone Reporting itself.

## Notes

- Reporting content available to a user may vary according to permissions.
- Reporting data is refreshed through scheduled processing and should not be interpreted as a real-time view of the operational Gladstone database.
- Additional Knowledge Base articles provide guidance on navigating dashboards, using filters, drilling into report data, exporting information and configuring other Gladstone Reporting features.
