# Android PEDs - Network Architecture

HTML version: [Android PEDs - Network Architecture](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/kb/android-peds-network-architecture)

## Problem
This article provides an overview of the different ways Android [PEDs](../guides/glossary.md) (Pin Entry Devices, the card payment terminals), such as the Verifone T650, can be connected to a network.

## Resolution

1. **Single Connection**
   - The PED is connected directly to a single network point (such as Wi-Fi or ethernet).

2. **Multiple Connections**
   - The PED can connect to more than one network type (e.g., both Wi-Fi and ethernet).

3. **Multiple Connections for Different Locations**
   - The PED is configured to use different network connections depending on its physical location or availability of networks.

4. **Complex networks**
   - Multiple PEDs connected across various locations and networks.

## Notes
- This article summarises the typical network connection options for Android PEDs like the Verifone T650.
- Refer to your specific device documentation for configuration steps or architectural diagrams.
- For the network addresses and ports a T650P must be able to reach, see [Android T650P PED Connection and Firewall Requirements](../hardware/android-t650p-ped-connection-and-firewall-requirements.md). Terms are explained in [Android PED Terminology](android-ped-terminology.md).
