# Setting Up and Configuring Verifone PTS5 PED (V200C and V240M)

HTML version: [Setting Up and Configuring Verifone PTS5 PED (V200C and V240M)](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/hardware/setting-up-and-configuring-verifone-pts5-ped-v200c-and-v240m)

## Problem
You need to set up and configure a Verifone PTS5 PED device (V200C or V240M) for use at a Point of Sale (POS). This includes applying network and device settings so the PED works correctly and communicates with payment processing services.

## Resolution

### 1. Hardware Overview
There are two versions of Verifone PTS5 PED devices used at POS:
- **V200C** — Fixed device
- **V240M** — Mobile device

### 2. Prerequisites
Before configuration, ensure the following:
- Required by your IT/Network Security Team:
    - Network config details: IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway address, Primary DNS, Secondary DNS (optional), and Wi-Fi network credentials (for V240M).
    - Firewall rules allowing:
        - Outbound access to `91.207.36.31` on port `29006`
        - DNS resolution to `vhq2.vfims.com` at `https://vhq2.vfims.com/MessagingServer/MessageHandler.asmx`
        - Ports `25000` and `25001` open between the POS PC and the PED
    - Access to Verifone reporting portal: `https://reports.paywareocius.com/` (provided by Verifone Support)
    - Hardware service on the PC requires access to `https://logs.logdna.com/logs/*` (for Gladstone logging)
    - Remote access available for Gladstone engineers (WebEx or TeamViewer; Microsoft Teams is not supported)
- Hardware required: power cable, ethernet cable, and ethernet port for each V200C device

## Notes
- There are no references to steps required specifically from a Gladstone software perspective in this process.
- Contact your IT/Network Security Team for configuration details and prerequisites.
- Verifone reporting portal access is managed by Verifone, not Gladstone.
- Remote support requires third-party tools like WebEx or TeamViewer (not Microsoft Teams).
- For all hardware and network configuration, coordinate closely with your internal IT team.
