# How to Process Customer Present Payments Using the Verifone Android PED

**Applies to:** G360 POS users, Front of house staff

## Problem
Users need to process in-person card payments at the front desk using the Verifone Android PED in Gladstone360 POS and verify that the transaction has been completed.

## Resolution

1. **Add an item to the basket**
   - In Gladstone360 POS, add the required payable item(s) to the basket.
   - Select **Pay Now**.

2. **Select Customer Present**
   - When all payment methods appear, select **Customer Present** and then select **Pay**.

3. **Process the payment on the PED**
   - A payment popup will appear in Gladstone360 POS / Check-in POS, indicating the transaction is being sent to the Verifone PED.
   - Once received by the PED, the device will display available card entry methods: **Insert**, **Swipe**, or **Tap**.
   - The customer can choose their preferred payment method.

4. **Card entry methods**
   - **Insert Card:**
     - PED displays **Authorising - Keep card inserted**.
     - If signature verification is required, PED displays **Signature Required - Please Remove Card**.
     - Customer enters their signature on the PED.
     - PED displays **Please return this device to merchant**.
     - Merchant chooses:
       - **Yes, Approve** if the signature matches and the transaction is approved.
       - **No** if the signature does not match, and the transaction is declined.
   - **Tap Card:**
     - Customer taps the card on the PED.
     - PED displays authorising/processing.
     - If approved, payment completes and displays **Printing merchant receipt**.
   - **Swipe Card:**
     - Customer swipes the card.
     - PED displays authorising/processing.
     - If approved, payment completes and displays **Printing merchant receipt**.

5. **Verify the transaction in G360**
   - To confirm the transaction was successful:
     - Go to **Check-In > Sales** in G360 POS.
     - Locate the most recent transaction.
     - The payment method should display **Customer Present**.
