Go Branding, Links and Contact Details in Operator

Problem

Administrators need Go Book and Go Join to look like the organisation, link to the right website and policy pages, and show customers the right help contacts.

Resolution

  1. Supply theme colours

    • Supply up to two main colours plus a tertiary (button) colour as hex codes (hex or RGB, solid or blend), usually matching the website. Gladstone creates a JSON theme file.
    • From each colour Go generates a palette of tints and chooses where to use each shade. Pale colours, and the lighter tints of mid colours (e.g. 90%), blend into Go's grey/white background, so text and buttons can disappear.
    • Use the darker brand colour as primary with the others as accents, or solid colours (e.g. blue headers and selectors, green solid buttons) instead of blends.
  2. Supply the logo

    • The Go header banner is always white, so use a logo that shows on white. White or transparent backgrounds work best; round or oblong logos scale better than square ones.
    • Gladstone hosts the logo files: send PNG/JPEG, and send both light and dark versions if unsure.
  3. Set the images

    • Site finder image: the background image on the site finder is a URL. Host images on your website (they can be hidden pages) and swap the URL to change it, e.g. seasonally.
    • Background image: one image for the whole organisation (not per site). A GIF works; an MP4 is untested.
  4. Set the organisation links and names

    • Tenant URL: where clicking the logo on Go goes (usually the website home page or sport page). Update it if the website is rebranded.
    • Operator trading name: the organisation name shown on Go Book and Join.
    • Default page: usually Book, which links to login and join.
    • Password reset destination: usually already set.
  5. Link the policy pages

  6. Add analytics keys (if applicable)

  7. Set the contact details

    • There are two sets of help email and telephone fields: one for Go Book (booking queries) and one for Go Join / account renewal (membership and account queries). Go shows whichever fits the page the customer is on.
    • They can hold the same details or different ones; point each at the team that can act (e.g. bookings line for Go Book, membership team for Go Join). Choose monitored mailboxes.
    • Email from name: the display name on system emails (e.g. an abbreviation of the organisation's name, to keep it short).
  8. Save and check

    • Save. After each theme change, check contrast, button states and the phone layout, and check both contact sets on the test site.
