# Finding and Changing Settings in Go Operator

HTML version: [Finding and Changing Settings in Go Operator](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/gooperator/finding-and-changing-settings-in-go-operator)

## Problem
Administrators need to find and change the Go Operator settings that control Go Book and Go Join, and check the effect safely, among roughly 130 mostly pre-populated settings.

## Resolution

1. **Choose the site**
   - After logging in to Operator, choose the site (or area) you want to configure.

2. **Open the settings**
   - The main settings are under `Configuration > Modules > Configure`.
   - There are about **128–130 settings**. Most are pre-populated; review the populated defaults rather than accepting them unchecked.

3. **Find a setting**
   - Use the search box to find a setting by name (e.g. type **Book Look** for the look-ahead period).
   - Filtering the list **by group** rather than by name makes it easier to navigate.

4. **Change the value**
   - In on/off settings, **0 = off, 1 = on** (some use true/false).
   - Many settings have an **All sites** value as well as a value per site.

5. **Save and check the customer journey**
   - Save each group of settings, then check the effect in the customer-facing journey (test site first).

## Notes

- **Operator** controls everything online: Go Book and Go Join behaviour, the buttons customers click, tags and emails.
- Operator and Plus2 work from the **same data**, so changes in either show in both. Keep doing most configuration in Plus2 until features move to Operator.
- Form profiles can be **renamed** (e.g. "Guest sign-up form" → "Go Join", "Guest booking form" → "Go Book") to make them clearer.
- In Plus2, **F1 > Help** opens a searchable library of Plus2 articles.
- If Operator hangs or keeps showing errors, refresh (F5), press F12 and clear site data/cookies, then log in again. Report persistent errors to support with screenshots.
