Creating Deep Links for Membership Purchase in GladstoneGo
Problem
You want to send customers straight to a site, a membership category or one specific membership on Go Join, to make joining quicker from your website, QR codes, club pages, staff offers or marketing.
Resolution
Choose the link shape
Link What happens /site-finder?siteGroupId=…Site Finder shows only centres in that site group /memberships?siteId=…Memberships for that site. The site cannot be changed /memberships?siteId=…&memberType=…&membershipDuration=…&groupTag=…Opens with a specific membership selected. The customer can still choose another /memberships/payment-breakdown?siteId=…&memberType=…&membershipDuration=…&groupTag=…Goes straight to payment for that membership only - You can also link to the Go Join start page, where customers pick from all options.
Open the membership in Operator
- Go to
Configuration > Member Management > Memberships > Membership Typesand open the membership type. - Make sure every tag group has a tag selected. If not, select them, save, and open the membership again.
- Go to
Generate the link
- Click Create Membership Link.
- Choose the member's home site, which the link will auto-fill (for a single-site membership, choose that site). You can create several links for different sites.
- Click Generate Link.
Copy the link
- Copy the URL before leaving the page. It is not saved, so the page clears it when you navigate away; the link itself still works afterwards.
- When a customer clicks it, Go Join opens with the chosen membership pre-selected, ready to continue to payment. To take them one step further, use the payment breakdown shape above.
Open the page in Welsh or English (if applicable)
- Add
en_GBorcy_GBstraight after your domain, for examplehttps://yourcentre.gladstonego.cloud/cy_GB/memberships?siteId=….
- Add
Notes
- You need access to Go Operator with appropriate permissions.
- No membership link generated: the subscription needs a price level and status in GMC Sub Types, and a tag selected in every tag group. Check both.
- The membership must be available on Go Join with its tags mapped (see Setting Up Go Join Tag Groups and Mapping Memberships). Tag IDs cannot be changed once created, so links stay valid.
- Links to group (multi-member) memberships are not currently supported.
- Go Join cannot hide a pathway: every mapped membership shows to everyone. A deep link is a good way to reach an eligible audience, but it does not restrict who can buy.
- Parameter names must match exactly. You can add tracking tags such as
utm_source; they will not affect the link. - At present a language link may still open in the customer's own saved language preference.
