# Creating Booking Exceptions in Centre Management

HTML version: [Creating Booking Exceptions in Centre Management](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/gooperator/creating-booking-exceptions-in-centre-management)

## Problem
You need to block a court, area or other resource on the Centre Management booking sheet, for example for maintenance or instructor unavailability, so that it can't be booked anywhere.

## Resolution

1. **Open the booking sheet**
   - Go to `Operator > Centre Management`. Courts, areas, products and existing bookings carry over from Plus2.

2. **Open the exception tab**
   - From the booking drawer, open the **New Exception** tab.

3. **Mark the resource unavailable**
   - Tick the days and times to mark the resource unavailable.

## Notes

- An **Area** in Centre Management is a Plus2 **resource product**.
- An exception blocks the resource in Plus2, 360 and Go Book. Customers see only open slots, not the reason.
- Users need the **Create / Update / Delete Booking Exceptions** permissions, set in GMC `Security Configuration > Permissions`. The Operator roles that grant them are listed in [Block Booking Permissions in Go Operator](block-booking-permissions-in-go-operator.md).
- **New Exception** sits next to **New Block Booking** in the same drawer; make sure you are on the right tab.
