Configuring Access to Centre Management
Problem
You need to allow staff (such as front of house users) access to Centre Management in GMC without giving them full Operator access or permissions to other Operator features.
Resolution
Open the Operator Limited Role
- In GMC, go to
Security Configuration > Roles. - Select the "Operator Limited" role.
- In GMC, go to
Assign Users to the Operator Limited Role
- In the "Select users to assign to role" box, choose each user who should have access ONLY to Centre Management.
- Click Add Selected to assign the chosen users.
- If you want to assign all listed users, click Add All.
- Users who already have the Operator Standard or Operator Admin roles will not be impacted if they are also assigned to this role (but see Notes).
Save the Role Changes
- Save the changes to apply the updated permissions to the selected users.
Assign Full Operator Access to Administrators (if needed)
- If some administrators need full access to Operator, repeat the process.
- Instead of "Operator Limited," select either the "Operator Standard" or "Operator Admin" role.
Notes
- This applies to administrators and users managing roles and permissions in the GMC.
- The user performing these steps must have permission to add or amend roles and permissions.
- Access to GMC and Operator is required to complete this process.
- Other guidance says to give each user one Operator role: a user given both Operator Limited and Operator Advanced lost Configuration access, and 360 uses the role with the least access when a user holds more than one. Check access after assigning a second role. See Block Booking Permissions in Go Operator for what each Operator role allows in Centre Management, and Gladstone 360 Permission States and Roles.
