# Overview Screen

## Problem
When you log into GoLearn it opens the Overview screen, and you need to know what the orange banner, display preference buttons and action buttons do.

## Resolution

1. **Use the left-hand menu**
   - The left-hand menu gives access to **Overview**, **Book**, **Waiting lists**, **Members**, **School Swim**, **Comms**, **Reports** and **Settings**.

2. **Use the orange banner**
   - The orange banner at the top of your screen moves with you as you navigate throughout GoLearn. On its right-hand side:
     - **The logged-in user box**: displays the logged-in user and the centre they are logged into. To move between centres, click in this box and the other centres in your system are displayed.
     - **The Arrow button**: logs you out of the system and takes you back to the log-in screen.
     - **The Dark Grey button**: displays any alerts in your system linked to payment, membership or classes.

3. **Set your display preferences**
   - The Overview screen always defaults to the current week/day, but you have multiple buttons to adjust what dates or information are displayed:
     - **Today**: ensures the current date is displayed.
     - **Calendar**: opens a calendar so that you can manually select a date to display.
     - **Left arrow**: moves the date range back by one; for example, if you are viewing as a week, it displays the previous week.
     - **Right arrow**: moves the date range forward by one; for example, if you are viewing as a week, it displays the next week.
     - **Show Teachers**: places the teacher who is teaching each class name in bold.
     - **Show Areas**: places the bookable area the class is taking place in in bold.
     - **Show Session Space**: places the available space left in the class in bold.
     - **Best Fit**: gives you the option to view your classes via "best fit" or to group the teachers' sessions together.
     - **Class**: gives you 3 options to view your programme:
       - **Class**: view your classes by the colours you have set in set-up.
       - **Teacher**: view your classes in colours by teacher.
       - **Space**: view your classes in red (full classes), amber (limited space) or green (more than 2 spaces).
     - **Day / Week / 4 Days**: view your programme as a day, a week or 4 days.
     - **Save Default**: saves your preferences for the next time you log in.

4. **Filter the programme**
   - Below these buttons, use the **All Courses** and **All Areas** dropdowns to filter the programme displayed.

5. **Use the action buttons**
   - **Cancel/Uncancel**: use this button when you need to cancel or uncancel classes. See [How to Cancel a Class in GoLearn](how-to-cancel-a-class-in-golearn.md) for step-by-step instructions.
   - **Print**: allows you to print either a day or specific class information.
