Notes
- Before you start: you need access to
Settings > Coursesand the Overview screen in GoLearn. The course needs a payment plan that shows a price online. See HomePortal Shows No Price or the Wrong Price. - HomePortal must be enabled on the course for parents to see their child's class and progress when they log in.
- Going live with a new term is manual. You can't schedule bookings to open at a set time; update GoLearn when you want the term to go live. You can submit a feature enhancement request.
- Deep link filters for a course only appear once the course is live and ticked for Allow HomePortal bookings. Level information in deep links comes from the level descriptions in the scheme portal.
- Deep links into Online Joining to book a class aren't possible at the moment. You can submit a feature enhancement request.
- HomePortal has no date of birth or age restrictions. Add ages to class names or level descriptions so parents pick the right option. You can submit a feature enhancement request.
- Parents can't move their child between courses or sites in HomePortal. To stop members booking at a different site, set up separate payment plan memberships for each site.
- Troubleshooting:
- Parent can't see their child's class or progress: HomePortal isn't enabled on the course. Enable HomePortal on the course.
- A new level can't be added to classes or payment plans: the level isn't allowed on the course. Tick the level on the course in
Settings > Courses. - Deep link filters don't show for a course: the course isn't live or isn't ticked for HomePortal bookings. Tick Allow HomePortal bookings and make the course live.
- Members book at the wrong site: the payment plan membership covers several sites. Set up separate payment plan memberships per site.
- Common questions:
- Can we hide some classes from online booking? Yes. Edit each class, tick Override HomePortal Booking and leave online booking disabled.
- Can we set our new term to open online automatically? No. Going live is manual.
- Can HomePortal stop older children booking a level? No. There are no age checks. Put the ages in class names or level descriptions.
- Contact Gladstone support if a course or class still doesn't appear on HomePortal after you've checked the course and class settings and the payment plan. Include the course, class (day and time) and a screenshot of what parents see.
