# How to Send a Quick and Immediate Email to the Members Booked into a Single Session in GoLearn

HTML version: [How to Send a Quick and Immediate Email to the Members Booked into a Single Session in GoLearn](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/golearn/how-to-send-a-quick-and-immediate-email-to-the-members-booked-into-a-single-session-within-gole)

## Problem
You need to send a one-off operational email straight away to all members booked into a single session, using the **Message** quick link from the session.

## Resolution

1. **Open the message from the session**
   - Navigate to a session in GoLearn and click the **Message** button (in the session's **Actions** panel).
   - You are taken to the **New Message** screen in the Comms portal, with the audience set to the session members and defaulting to an operational email that is sent once.

2. **Name the message**
   - Click **New Message** (the message name) and change it to something meaningful.

3. **Design the email**
   - Click the **Design Email** panel to open the designer and add your email content.

4. **Set the email options**
   - Click the **Email Options** panel and add an **Email Subject**.
   - The **From name**, **Reply-To address** and **Privacy Policy URL** are inherited from branding by default.

5. **Check the audience**
   - Click the **Audience** panel and double-check that the filters created by the quick link (for example **Location**, **Course**, **Class Day of the Week**, **Class Level**, **Class Teacher**, **Classes** and **Class Session**) have correctly targeted the right members.

6. **Save and send**
   - Click **Save** at the bottom of the screen. The validation checks on the left (**Channels**, **Design Email**, **Email Options**, **Audience**, **Sending Options**, **Send Dependencies**) should all pass with a green tick.
   - Click **Send Message**.
   - When prompted with **Schedule or send now**, click **Send Now** to send it straight away, or **Schedule for later** to send it at a later time.

## Notes

- When adding text, use the **Magic Tags** feature (under **Merge tags** in the editor toolbar) to add member details to the message. These work the same as the placeholders in Contact Triggers. Available magic tags include **First name**, **Last name**, **Home Club**, **Organisation Name**, **Member ID**, **Member Barcode**, **Expiry date** and **Member Status**.
