How to Run Reports

Problem

You need to open the GoLearn reporting window, run a report, choose which fields it includes and in what order, filter the results and download the output as a CSV file for further analysis.

Resolution

  1. Open Reports

    • Click Reports in the left-hand menu, then Launch Reports. This opens your reporting window.
  2. Open the report list

    • Click the arrow next to Overview (the report selector, which shows Default Report beneath it). A list of all the reports available to run appears.
  3. Select the report

    • Select the report you wish to run. Available reports include:
      • Overview
      • Classes
      • Class Members
      • Course Balances
      • Transaction Balances
      • HomePortal Accounts
      • Class Sessions
      • Attendance Report
      • Cancelled Sessions
      • Transactions
      • Credit
      • Refunds
      • Online Transactions
      • Further reports are available by scrolling the list.
  4. Choose the fields

    • Click Fields to select which columns are in your report and in which order. The fields shown are the fields that GoLearn will report on.
    • Click the x next to a field if you do not want that information.
    • Click in the white space of the box to see any additional fields you can add; select a field and it is added to the box.
  5. Set the filters

    • Click Filters on the right to display filters for several different criteria.
    • Use the filters (for example Date, Regions, Centres, Courses and Teachers) to target the information you want.
    • Several reports need a From Date and To Date set here before they run.
  6. Run the report

    • Click Update Report. The selected report, with any filters applied, is displayed in the light grey section.
  7. Download the report

    • Once the report is displaying, click Download to download it as a CSV file.
    • We recommend opening it in a data handling program (such as Excel or Google Sheets) to further manipulate your data: sort your report, filter it further and complete your calculations.
