How to Hold a Space
Problem
You need to hold a space in a class for a member for a set period of time in GoLearn, typically during a busy period when the space cannot be purchased instantly.
Resolution
Open the waiting lists
- Click Waiting lists.
- Select the Course, then the Level.
Open the class
- Click View next to the class you are holding the space for. Each class shows the number of spaces available, held spaces, and priority and general waiting list counts.
Hold a space
- Click the Hold a space button in the Actions panel on the right (alongside Add to the Priority Waiting List and Add to the General Waiting List).
Select the member
- Search for the member by their name or Card ID number.
- Click the member's name.
Set the expiry date
- Click the Expiry date field and add an expiry date.
- Add any notes if necessary.
Save
- Click Save. The member has now been added to a held space.
Notes
- It is possible to hold a space in a class for any given period of time.
- Holding a class space should not be used for long-term space holding. For example, a customer should ideally be placed on a waiting list if they cannot pay for a space the same day.
- Holding spaces is primarily aimed at busy periods where a space cannot be purchased instantly.
