# HomePortal Status Filter

## Problem
You want to target members in Comms Portal based on whether they have an activated HomePortal account, using the **HomePortal Status** filter.

## Resolution

1. **Add the filter**
   - In Comms Portal, when you are creating a segment or selecting your audience while creating a message, click **Add Filter**.
   - Click **HomePortal Status**.

2. **Choose an option**
   - **Active**: targets all members who have an activated HomePortal account.
   - **Inactive**: targets all members who do not have an activated HomePortal account.

## Notes

- If no people match the segment, messages will not send until at least one person matches the segment criteria.
