Enabling Booking Restriction Times for Online Joining
Problem
Customers joining online are booked into that day's session, and you would prefer them to start from a later date, such as the following week, instead of the same day.
Root Cause
When a customer joins online, GoLearn automatically defaults their booking to the next available start date. If a customer joins on the same day that the class takes place, they are booked into that day's session, provided the class has not already started. This helps maximise income, as last-minute spaces can still be filled.
Resolution
Open the course
- Click Settings, then Courses.
- Find the course you wish to apply the restrictions to and click Edit. The restrictions apply to every class within the course.
Add a booking restriction
- Scroll down to Online Day and Time Booking Restrictions and click Add.
- For the specified days, customers cannot book online for that day's classes between the specified times. If no restriction times are defined, the class can be booked at any time.
Set the day and times
- Select the Day Of Week.
- Enter a From time and To time.
- Set this up for each day of the week that your classes run.
- The From and To times define the period during that day when booking restrictions apply:
- Any bookings within these times are restricted.
- Any bookings outside these times are not restricted, and customers can join as normal.
- Make sure the times reflect when you want restrictions to be active on each class day.
Save the course
- Click Done, then Save Course.
Notes
- Check with the Support team that Enable Booking Restriction is applied to your GoLearn configuration before you start.
- Both a From time and a To time must be entered. If the end time is left blank, the message "The 'End Time' needs to have a time value" is shown.
