HTML version: [Setting up 2FA in GladstonePay Portal](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/gladstonepay/setting-up-2fa-in-gladstonepay-portal)

## Problem
You need to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to access the GladstonePay portal. This process adds an extra layer of security by requiring you to use an authenticator app on your phone when logging in.

## Resolution

1. **Install an Authenticator App**
   - Before starting, ensure you have an authenticator app installed on your smartphone. Examples include Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

2. **Log in to the GladstonePay Portal**
   - Go to [https://admin.gladstonepay.co.uk/admin/login.php](https://admin.gladstonepay.co.uk/admin/login.php).
   - Log in with your supplied account details.

3. **Set Up 2FA**
   - After logging in, a page with a QR code will be displayed. This is required for setting up 2FA.

4. **Scan the QR Code**
   - Open the authenticator app on your phone.
   - Select the option to add a new account or scan a barcode.
   - Use the app to scan the displayed QR code.
   - This will add your GladstonePay account to your authenticator app.

5. **Enter the Code**
   - The app will now display a code for GladstonePay.
   - Enter this code on the GladstonePay page to complete 2FA setup.
   - You now have access to the system.

6. **Future Logins**
   - Each time you log in, you will be prompted for a new code from your authenticator app.

## Notes

- If you need to set up 2FA again, you must contact Gladstone Support. Raise a case via the Gladstone Portal to get assistance.
- The 2FA code is always generated by your authenticator app on your smartphone.
- Two-Factor Authentication helps protect your account by requiring an additional identity check beyond your password.
