# Using the GMC Configuration Manager

HTML version: [Using the GMC Configuration Manager](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/gladstone360/using-the-gmc-configuration-manager)

## Problem
Administrators need to find a Gladstone 360 setting in the GMC Configuration Manager, give one site a different value from the rest, and make sure saved changes reach every user.

## Resolution

1. **Open the Configuration Manager**
   - Go to `GMC > Configuration Manager > Configuration`.

2. **Choose the element and instance**
   - Choose the element in **Please Select Product** and, if there's more than one, the **instance** in the drop-down beside it.
   - Use **Expand all** to see every section. *Introduction* gives a summary of the module.

   | Element | Covers |
   |---|---|
   | **Gladstone360 CheckIn POS** | Cache, general check-in/POS settings, membership emails, Payment Manager, prospect emails, toastr, documents, email templates |
   | **Gladstone360 Contacts** | Cache, freeze settings, password reset, documents, email templates |
   | **Gladstone360 Front of House** | Activity groups, bank and identity validation, cache, financial, general, membership, regional and workflow settings, subscription types and groups, documents, email templates |
   | **Gladstone360 Home** | Home bar and home screen |
   | **Gladstone360 Access** | Class check-in widget and access settings |
   | **Member Facing Global** | Settings shared with customer-facing products (Go, Connect, MobilePro) |
   | **Shared Global** | Settings shared across the suite |

3. **Give one site its own value (if applicable)**
   - Many settings have an **All Sites** value. To give one site a different value:
     - Click the option to add another control to the setting (for example *Activity Start Tolerance Time*).
     - A new empty parameter appears at the bottom of the section.
     - Enter the value and select the site it applies to.
   - On saving, the site-specific value overrides the All Sites value for that site.

4. **Save and close**
   - Select **Save**, then **Close**. Users see the change at next login; a browser refresh may be needed.

## Notes

- Many settings are marked "provided by Gladstone Software and should only be modified by an authorised user or a Gladstone representative". The settings reference articles mark these **(Gladstone)**. Menu names may have moved in current builds.
- Each element has **Cache Settings > Clear Cache Url** **(Gladstone)**. After a configuration change, this URL refreshes the application cache and pushes the change to all users. Gladstone replaces the default `localhost` source with the real domain, which is faster.
- Don't change clear cache URLs or IP addresses yourself: a mistyped character stops that function working (ask support to restore it).
- Documentation gives the CheckIn POS clear cache default as `http://localhost/Gladstone360/POS/Api/clearcache` but suggests `http://<DomainName>/Gladstone360/POS/Api/utils/clearcache` (an extra `utils/` segment). The Front of House paths omit `/Gladstone360/`. Leave these to Gladstone.
