Recurring Card Payments (RCP)
Problem
You need to understand how Recurring Card Payments (RCP), which charge a customer's stored card automatically each period, are set up across Plus2, the GMC and Go, and where each task is covered.
Resolution
RCP Compared with Direct Debit
- Read first if you are choosing between RCP and Direct Debit, or moving members from one to the other.
Recurring Card Payment Set-Up in Plus2
- When you create the subscription: payment method, duration, renewal, price levels and contract rules.
Selling RCP and Registering the Customer's Card in Go
- When you sell RCP, or a collection fails because no card is set.
Configuring the RCP Service in the GMC
- When you set up or change the collection service, failed-payment handling and the automatic emails.
Monitoring RCP Reports and Failed Payments
- For the routine checks after go-live and handling persistent non-payers.
Cancelling, Freezing and Refunding RCP Subscriptions
- When a customer wants to stop, pause or be refunded.
Using RCP Subscriptions for Courses
- When you collect monthly course fees by RCP.
Testing Recurring Card Payments
- Before go-live.
Notes
- RCP is controlled by one field: the subscription's Payment method. Collection runs automatically in daily batches; there is no manual run.
- Only the customer can add a card, in their Go wallet. Staff never see card details.
- Online RCP payments are refunded in GladstonePay, not with 360 refund permissions.
- For Direct Debit collection, see How to Perform an AUDDIS or EFT/Direct Debit Run in the GMC.
