RCP Reverification FAQ

Problem

This article addresses common questions about the Recurring Card Payment (RCP) reverification process, including why reverification is required, how members complete the process, and what happens if members do not reverify their card details. Use this reference when supporting members or managing RCP memberships.

Resolution

  1. What is RCP reverification?
RCP reverification checks that a member’s card is still valid so their regular payments continue without disruption.

  2. Why is RCP reverification being implemented?
It is being rolled out following guidance from payment partners. A one-off reverification improves safeguards and reduces future payment issues.

  3. How does a member reverify?
Members log into their account in Go or Connect, where they will be prompted to reverify their card details.

  4. How should I explain this to members?
You will have been provided with a customisable email template to notify members and explain why they need to reverify. (For details, see the related article: "Sending emails for reverifying Recurring Card Payment (RCP) memberships.")

  5. If a member doesn’t reverify, can payments still be collected?
Yes. Payments will still be attempted, but reverification reduces the likelihood of failed transactions.

  6. Are email notifications compulsory?
No, but sending them is strongly recommended to reduce failed payments.

  7. Who is responsible for contacting members?
You are responsible for communicating with your members. (See the related article: "Sending emails for reverifying Recurring Card Payment (RCP) memberships.")

  8. What happens if a member never reverifies?
Payments will continue until the card expires or fails. The member will need to update their card details when prompted to continue their membership.
