HTML version: [Gladstone 360 CheckIn POS General Settings](https://support.gladstonesoftware.cloud/gladstone360/gladstone-360-checkin-pos-general-settings)

## Problem
Administrators need to know what each Gladstone 360 CheckIn POS General Setting in the GMC does, and its default, before changing how check-in, booking and the till behave.

## Resolution

1. **Open the General Settings**
   - Go to `GMC > Configuration Manager > Configuration`, select **Gladstone360 CheckIn POS** and expand **General Settings**.

2. **Review and change the settings**
   - Values are **All Sites** by default and most can be made site-specific (see [Using the GMC Configuration Manager](using-the-gmc-configuration-manager.md)).

   | Setting | What it does | Default / range |
   |---|---|---|
   | **Activity Start Tolerance Time** | How many minutes after a class, course or activity has started a contact can still be booked into it in 360 (applies to everything in 360, not to Go). After that, no bookings. | 15 minutes; 1–9999 |
   | **Activity Slots Prefetch Period** | Days of availability fetched in the background when searching activities, classes or courses. Longer = slower. | 7 days; 1–9999 |
   | **Advance Booking Period** | Days shown to staff when searching activities, classes or courses (how far ahead front of house can book, for example 90). Each activity's own restrictions still apply. 360 only: Go uses its own advance windows. | 30 days (see Notes); 1–9999 days |
   | **Allowed Payment Methods** | Payment methods offered in the basket and POS. **All** / **None** shortcuts. Enabled methods appear on every till. The methods come from the **Plus2** payment methods. | Cash and Cheque |
   | **Allowed Sites** | Sites where 360 can be used. Also needed for cross-site bookings to show. Use it to roll 360 out site by site while other sites stay on Plus2. Tick only sites that use 360 (for example not a contact centre or pitches-only site). | — |
   | **Barcode Type** | Ticket barcodes as 1D (barcode) or 2D (QR code), read by the barcode/QR readers on entry points. | 1D |
   | **Cancellation Cut Off Period** | Added in error and not implemented. Ignore. | — |
   | **Contact Document Upload Maximum Size (MB)** | Maximum upload size per document. Typically about 5 MB; split larger files. | Site-set |
   | **Default display for Attendance History** | Default date range on the Attendance widget. Kept short for speed; staff can widen any tab on screen. | Last 7 days; options All dates, 7, 30, 60, 90 days |
   | **Default display for Correspondence History** | As above for Correspondence. | Last 7 days |
   | **Default display for Event Log History** | As above for the Event log. | Last 7 days |
   | **Default display for Sales History** | As above for Sales. | Last 7 days |
   | **Duration before contacts can override waiting list** | Minutes before a class start when staff with **Override Waiting List** permission can book someone into a free space ahead of the waiting (alert) list. This affects the Go alert list for that class. For example 120 for two hours; keep it within the day. | 15 minutes |
   | **Enable load balancing of SignalR Hub** | Use multiple SignalR hubs **(Gladstone)**. | — |
   | **Entry Point ID** | The reception entry point whose rules apply to 360 (Record attendance and reception swipes log attendance here). Each site needs its own reception entry point, created in Plus2 and added here as a site-specific value; add another if a new reception point opens. | Reception |
   | **Gantner Entry Point ID** / **Gantner Success Message** / **Gantner Failure Message** | Entry point and messages for Gantner NFC devices (for example lockers) **(Gladstone)**. | — |
   | **Ignore membership infringements when selling a membership** | Whether infringements are ignored during a membership sale. | — |
   | **Lock in landscape mode** | Forces landscape on tablets using a suitable check-in profile. | Off |
   | **Max Quantity Limit** | Largest quantity a user can set for a product in the shared basket. | 999 |
   | **Maximum records on member search** | Maximum contacts returned by a search, for performance. | 1000 |
   | **Navigate to non-member after every financial transaction** | Returns POS to the non-member record after each transaction. | — |
   | **Number of days that bookings are shown in the future** | Upcoming bookings shown in the Bookings widget. | 30 days |
   | **Number of days that bookings are shown in the past** | Past bookings shown in the Bookings widget. Many sites use 14. | 7 days |
   | **POS Reading by Payment Method** | Staff declare a counted total for each payment method in readings, so the totals can be matched with the card terminal. | Off |
   | **Print Course Ticket(s)** | One ticket for the first session, or a ticket per session, for Plus2 courses. | Print ticket for first session |
   | **Prospect Needs Analysis Screen Profile Page Name** / **Prospect personal details screen profile** | Plus2 screen profiles used by the Prospects module. | — |
   | **Receipt Produced for Zero Amount Transactions** | Whether zero-value transactions print a receipt. Usually off to save till roll. | — |
   | **Search for anonymous availability for non-member** | Search unrestricted availability first, then find the contact and apply their restrictions. | No |
   | **SignalR Hub Url** | Load-balanced hardware service URL **(Gladstone)**. | Empty |
   | **Z-Reading – earliest time a Z-Reading can be performed (HH:MM)** | Earliest time a Z can be run (for example 15:01 to allow for early-closing days). | 15:00 |
   | **Z-Reading – latest time a Z-Reading can be performed (HH:MM)** | Latest time a Z can be run; it can be after midnight. | 05:00 |

3. **Save**
   - Select **Save**, then **Close**. Users see the change at next login or after a browser refresh.

## Notes

- **Advance Booking Period**: one configuration document gives the default as "30 minutes" while the range is in days; training gives 30 days. Treat it as 30 days.
- **Z-reading times**: how the earliest and latest Z times and the automatic Z behave is described in [Running POS Readings and Cash-up in Gladstone360](running-pos-readings-and-cash-up-in-gladstone360.md).
- **Payment methods**: which methods to enable is covered in [Taking Payments and Discounts at the Gladstone360 Till](taking-payments-discounts-and-refunds-at-the-gladstone360-till.md).
- **Activity refresh period** (milliseconds): how often the screen refreshes, so a place booked online disappears in-house almost at once.
- **Prospects** module: lead management with tasks and appointments assigned to users, and appointment/phone-call emails. It needs rules configuring; disable it if another CRM or lead tool is used.
- The other CheckIn POS sections are in [Gladstone 360 CheckIn POS Payment Manager, Prospect Email and Toastr Settings](gladstone-360-checkin-pos-email-payment-manager-and-toastr-settings.md); the membership email switches are in [Configuring Gladstone360 Automated Emails in the GMC](configuring-gladstone360-automated-emails-in-the-gmc.md).
